Context
This is a billboard or print public service announcement that's designed to make people realize that celebrities are themselves unpaid tobacco spokespeople for cigarettes by making smoking look cool.

It seems to be activating people's anger towards celebrities or criticizing them for their socially irresponsible behavior. Celebrities ARE role models whether they want to be or not.

    This poster was part of the national anti-tobacco TRUTH campaign, aimed at young people and was unveiled during the Summer of 2014. There is also a 30 second commercial version (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uTj4I9WUggw) which ran in many movie theatres.     This photo qualifies as propaganda because it shows famous celebrities smoking, and if it's okay for them to smoke then it's okay for us to smoke. It is a harmful ad. The propagandist is selling the message because they are indicating it's cool for everyone to smoke since celebrities can do it. It shows appeal to authority, due to the fact they are famous and are "better" than most. Many people look up to celebrities.

    This message qualifies as propaganda because it shows people of high influence smoking cigarettes. This message is harmful as it shows celebrities being okay with smoking.The message is being sold by saying if celebrities can smoke it should be alright if others do it as well.The emotional appeal present is the appeal of self-esteem because it shows others that it would be"cool" to smoke. Another emotional appeal present is that of associations because it shows a variety of well known people smoking.

    The message qualifies as propaganda because its showing how celebrities are basically advertising smoking with out even realizing it. Its harmful because smoking is bad for you and people look up to celebrities so if they see them smoking they want to smoke too. There selling the message by showing 3 different celebrities smoking. I think it would be appeal to authority or experts because its famous people smoking.

    I agree with Nathan S. that celebrities influence smoking because they are okay with smoking. I think that another emotional appeal would be appeal to social fears because if you see a lot of celebrities smoking and your friends starting to smoke too, then that put pressure on you to start smoking so you won't be socially rejected.

    This is propaganda because it makes you think it okay to smoke because these celebrities are and they're unpaid. This harmful to society because they would thunk its okay to smoke. They're selling this message by using famous people like rihanna. It uses the appeal to authority due to the people who are smoking.

    This message qualifies as propaganda because it shows celebrities smoking. This ad is good for the community but the people in the ad are harmful to the community by promoting smoking. They are using people of high influence and showing that they smoke and that they shouldn't because they are promoting young people to smoke. This appeals to associations because they are using celebrities everyone or at least most people know.

    This is propaganda by using famous celebrities and turning it into an ad. It is harmful because seeing celebrities that you like smoking will make you want to smoke. It is selling the message by using the famous celebrities. It is an appeal to authority because when someone you like does something then you are going to want to do it too.

    I consider all advertisements with celebrities propaganda. As long as they're there, there's something Public being discussed whether it's good or bad. In this case it's a bad thing being discussed. I think this is harmful propaganda because, although I don't approve of smoking, they're not intentionally doing this. Yet it does affect the common people when they see this. If they're going to use this information, I'd suggest a different way because that way they tried to get this message across was eh.
